Beautiful Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada has been home for the last fifteen years. 

Writing, art, and photography are life long passions and I’m exploring all of them now in new ways. Some are more successful than others. I’m doing our family history and that’s a challenge!

SilverGenes is a way to bring all of this together and share the journey with others exploring new terrain. It’s not always pretty, but it’s a lot of fun! 

I thought about putting a cartoon portrait up, but decided to go with the real deal.

And that person on the front page of the website? One of the women who made a huge impression on who I turned out to be. Same name as my mother and one of her dearest friends—Grace.

And couldn’t we all use a little more grace?
